Ocotillo

Ocotillo and Palo Verde are modern, luxury apartments overlooking the Hill Country of Austin, Texas, bordering of city life and countryside. They get their names from the Texas-native Ocotillo plant and the vibrant green, Palo verde Tree. We were tasked in creating two distinct, yet subtly related, visual identities and translating the brand across print, digital, and 3D platforms.

Problem

Austin, Texas is one of the nation’s fastest growing cities. Competition in the housing market is fierce and downtown is saturated with options. Our client’s property isn’t a prime, downtown location, but it has something else to offer. Its location straddles the border of the Texas Hill Country and the urban, Austin area, boasting easy access to natural amenities.

Solution

We decided to capture the essence of the desert plant, as well as highlight the space and connection to nature.

Informed by the Ocotillo plant and its environment, the visual identity consists of vibrant red resembling the Ocotillo flowers, natural textures mimicking the west, and striking photography to showcase “wide open,” landscapes.
